STOP PRESS FROM ILKLA MOOR

Entering for the first time, Heath have just won the Ilkey Schools’ Seven-a-Side competition. Despite the presence of reputedly crack Northern Schools such as Acklam Hall, Turners Coatham, Hymers’ Hull, and the Royal Grammar School Newcastle, to say nothing of the local giants — Bradford, Leeds, Keighley, Roundhay, and Wakefield — Heath were quickly spotted as one of the likeliest of the 25 competing teams.

This was the first of a run of three victories.
