Letters from Old Boys

Dean Bake [1969–76]

I've just come across this great website by accident.

I was at Heath Grammar School between 1969 and 1976. It was amusing to read the great Walt Swales’ introduction to the prefects. I remember him gliding down the hall with his gown flowing and taking command of the assembly like some great army general, leaning on the lectern with the eagle. It’s a shame they don’t have people like that in schools anymore.

I have very fond memories of my time at Heath. It was also interesting to read about the people who have left and joined the police force, as that is what I did and have been in the Cheshire Constabulary as a Sergeant since 1981; only 4 years to retirement.

I look forward to visiting the site as it builds.

Many thanks
Dean Bake
