Research by Heidi Bain, Masters student
Following contact with Dani Dolan of Halifax Heritage Tours in 2023, it was suggested that we should partner with them to submit an application to York University History Department to offer one of their post-graduate students a specific area of investigation in our school history. The application would be for the student to be funded for the work. Jim Farrell agreed to mentor the student.
Heidi Bain, a Masters student, was appointed as the Intern on the Heath project over the summer of 2024 and produced the attached report in which she collated all the available evidence on the school charter and the location of the original school buildings, providing an excellent foundation for further research into the history of the school.
Following completion of her degree she secured a post as an archaeologist with SLR Consulting.
