2025 Annual Reunion Dinner
The Association’s 78th Annual Reunion Dinner was held at Heath RUFC, West Vale, on Friday, .
The AGM revealed another successful year and an identical surplus of £810 to that of the previous year along with another slight decline in the number of members. The officers and committee were re-elected en bloque.
In his inimitable way, Jim Farrell marked the 60th birthday of Dominic Potter [Heath 1977–1982]. Dean Jones, headteacher at Crossley Heath, noted the academic prowess of the pupils, that the size of the sixth form had risen to 150, the opening of the cricket nets earlier in the week which replaced the ones put up at Crossley & Porter in 1910, the revival of other sporting events such as the swimming gala and the overseas trips which pupils are making.
The raffle raised £533.25 and was drawn after Jon’s favorite stand up sit down bingo. In his speech Jim Farrell proposed that the association should think about something to leave in the form of endowments to Crossley Heath and the Heath RUFC while John Bunch endorsed the idea, pointing out that in ten years time it would be 450 years since the granting of the charter in 1585.
