Ivan James Birch: –2021 [Heath 1949–1955]

Ivan James Birch was born on and died on .

His funeral was held at 2.15 pm on Friday, at Park Wood Crematorium, Elland.

We have little information about him at this time except that he published an Introduction to Chinese in two volumes in the 1970s and 1980s and was Hon. Secretary of the Halifax Antiquarian Society during the 1980s.

John Hartley Brear [Heath 1956–1963]

John Brear was born in Halifax on . He attended Moorside Junior School and Heath. After teacher training in Leeds he taught at Whitehill Junior School and for many years at Bradshaw Junior School. A dedicated teacher he was held in high regard by both pupils and colleagues.

John played football for Salem and did a lot of football with young people. He also enjoyed walking and train-spotting.

John retired from teaching at 50. He married Pam and joined her in running Ovenden Post Office before he and his wife decided in 2006 to move to Spain where he died on . A memorial service was held at New Providence Church, Ovenden, on .

Christopher John Burnett [Heath 1976–1983]

Chris Burnett was born on and lived at 7 Craven Terrace, Hopwood Lane when he was admitted to Heath. He went on to university, after which he joined the West Yorkshire Police based at Todmorden. He then progressed onto the Diving Unit and later worked as patrol officer at Killingbeck, Leeds. He served for 31 years in the police and then worked for Wakefield council in the licencing department.

He lost his battle with depression and passed away on .
