Charles William Rouse: – [Heath 1907–1915]
Charles William Rouse died on at the venerable age of 99, having celebrated his birthday on . Surely he must have been our oldest old boy!
He had become an Assistant Scout Master by 1917 and joined the Sea Scouts. He joined the Sherwood Foresters as a signaller at the age of 18 and served in France, being discharged in 1919.
His first wife had been Mary by whom he had a daughter; he married his second wife, Margaret, in 1968. He had 11 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
He started the Scout Troop at St Jude’s Church. He became Assistant District Commissioner for Halifax and from 1941-1956 was District Commissioner. He retired from the Scouts on his 90th birthday .
